Photon Design have just announced that they have released the latest version of their flagship product FIMMWAVE.

Version 5.2.4 represents some significant improvements to the FDM Solver including:

- in many cases a reduction of 67% in memory usage.

- A flexible lens section allowing for the modeling of both pulled and etched/polished lenses which can be used for both fiber structures and waveguides.

- Enhancements to the MWG user interface.

- Various accuracy and speed improvements to the FDM Solver and FDM Fiber solvers.

- Enhanced Taper Section.
